  • NCC TowCheck

Before buying and towing a new or used caravan it is important to ensure that the fundamentals, like knowing if the combination is safe and legal, are covered.

If you are considering buying a caravan, new or used, or changing your car if you have a caravan already, it is extremely important to make sure that the combination is suitably matched in relation to the relevant weights.

The rules on what you can tow depend on certain weight ratios and are different depending on when you passed your driving test.

TowCheck helps to ensure that a given combination is safe and legal, giving you and your family peace of mind before making an investment.

  • Approved Workshop Scheme

Approved Workshops are run by fully qualified caravan and motorhome servicing professionals. There currently over 550 mobile and fixed base workshops in the scheme spread across the whole of the UK.

Using an Approved Workshop gives you peace of mind that the technician working on your tourer or motorhome is qualified to the required standards. They will normally guarantee all service related repairs for a minimum of six months and take all reasonable steps to protect the validity of any unexpired warranties.

Along with the requirements for technicians, each workshop must also meet high standards of competency (the formal qualifications of the technician) and comply with an industry Code of Practice.

  • CRiS

CRiS is the National Register of UK touring caravan keepers, similar to the DVLA and is recognised by the regulatory bodies, insurance companies and government organisations such as the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and the Department for Transport (DFT).

    • Why is CRiS Registration important for caravan keepers?
    • Proves you are the registered keeper
    • Links a caravan’s unique 17 digit VIN to a CRiS keeper record
    • Assists the police and enforcement
    • VIN CHIP™, the new industry standard in touring caravan identification, uses a caravan’s unique VIN within both visible and invisible caravan VIN CHIP™ Elements
    • Many insurance companies require CRiS registration before processing a claim
    • Helps manufacturer product recalls and warranty
